"Koi Vortex" (2012, oil on linen, 24 X 24")

This eclectic assortment of oil paintings spans many years. Every once in a while, I took a break from painting landscapes to depict mysterious events, omens, or mystical dreams of personal significance to me. Although most of us are usually caught up in our mundane daily lives, often a hint of something not quite 'normal' intrudes and makes us question our assumptions about the nature of reality. I've always like this quote:

"Crazy Horse dreamed and went into the world where there is nothing but the spirits of all things. That is the real world that is behind this one, and everything we see here is something like a shadow from that world."
